Outdoor Partnership Walks for 60+ Community

After the success of our Guided Walks for the 60+ community near Builth Wells last year,
Walk Hay is proud to again be able to offer another series of specially designed guided walks for the 60+ community in and around Builth Wells, Mid Wales. These walks are an opportunity to step into the beautiful countryside, breathe in fresh air, and enjoy gentle exercise while connecting with others. Led by an experienced, professional, and fully qualified guide (also trained in outdoor first aid and mental health first aid), these walks are all about creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you’re new to walking or looking to return to it, you don’t need to be super fit—just bring a sense of humour and a willingness to enjoy the outdoors.
Taking place every Tuesday morning from 2nd September to 11th November 2025, each walk will last roughly two hours and explore scenic paths, quiet lanes, and countryside bridleways around the Builth Wells area. The pace will be easy and steady, with plenty of stops to take in the views, snap photos, and chat. You’ll receive help over any tricky terrain or stiles, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included. These walks are not only great for your body but also a wonderful way to boost mental health by connecting with nature and building friendships. We will also be learning a little bit of map reading & navigation so that you can perhaps use these skills to explore with friends, or on your own on foot as well.
These walks are funded by The Outdoor Partnership charity, from a fund from Simon Gibson Charitable Trust.
Together, we’ll rediscover the joys of walking and the well-being it brings.
More Walks coming April & May 2026!!
