About the event
Perched high on the hillside above the Usk Valley, Craig-y-Cilau consists of a sweeping amphitheatre of cliffs and screes that curls around the edge of Mynydd Llangatwg. This craggy, 120m-high curtain is one of the largest limestone cliffs in South Wales!
We start here and then work our way down through farmland and woods into the valley where we skirt Llangottock village, then we take the beautiful Brecon to Monmouth canal tow path before returning to the lanes, fields & woods back to the start.
A challenging walk, but as ever, with a professional guide giving encouragment & assistance over anything tricky, this route can be achieved by someone with an average level of fitness. Walks are always taken at a steady pace with nobody getting left at the back.
Its winter, so wrap up warm, bring a flask, and lets get out there together to discobver this amazing place!
Unless there is ice or snow under foot, we will be walking.
If there is ice or snow, a refund will be issued.
