About the event

Join us for a beautiful 7.5-mile circular walk exploring the dramatic landscape of the Blorenge (Mynydd Blorens) in the Brecon Beacons National Park. We begin high above Abergavenny at The Keeper’s Pond (Pen-ffordd-goch) — a man-made lake built in the early 19th century to supply water to the Garnddyrys Forge, now a much-loved spot for walkers, wild swimmers, and paddleboarders.

From here, we follow a gentle trail across open moorland to reach the summit of the Blorenge (561m). Starting high means the ascent is steady and surprisingly easy for such a commanding peak — one of the most accessible summits in the National Park. From the top, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views across the Vale of Usk, the Sugar Loaf, and on a clear day, even Pen y Fan.
