Walk Details

This walk is steep to start with, up on part of the Offas Dyke route, you do however get amazing views of Hay and the river Wye stretched out in the valley below. We then cross a common and a boardwalk to slowly come down through beautiful woodland, eventually coming back through Hay by the river. You need a reasonable level of fitness for this walk due to the hills involved, but you don't need to be an athlete! We will encourage each other, and will walk go at a steady pace, resting at various points. (maximum 12 people) All walk lengths & timescales given are approximate, as there are variable factors such as pace of the group, weather considerations, & differing abilities of walkers. The walk leader will may make slight changes to the route on the day in response to any of these factors. Dogs unfortunately can't come with us sadly, but if you would like to come and need a 'dog-sitter' do get in contact and I can put you in touch with a doggy day care facility. We will walk whatever the weather unless there is ice or snow underfoot, very high winds, thunder or severe flooding, in which case a full refund will be issued. You will need shoes/boots with a good tread, (wellies are fine as long as you have a tread on the bottom). Make sure you bring water/hot drink possibly if its cold, a waterproof jacket, a backpack is preferable to a handbag or shoulder bag, and if we are walking at lunchtime, don't forget your lunch!
