About the event

Join us for a scenic 5.5-mile guided circular walk through the historic and breathtaking landscapes near Llandrindod Wells. Led by an experienced walk leader at a steady, easy-going pace, this springtime stroll offers a gentle route suited to those with average fitness. Starting by the tranquil lake in the town, we’ll head into a lovely woodland section of the Heart of Wales Line Trail, where rolling hills unveil panoramic views over this rich and storied region.

Our journey leads us downhill to the famous "Shaky Bridge," once a rickety crossing over the river Ithon, now replaced by a sturdy footbridge that opens into the valley where there once was the medieval village of Cefnllys. Here, we’ll explore the peaceful St Michael’s Church, the only remaining structure of the ancient village, with its poignant setting beneath a hill that once bore witness to fierce battles at the now-ruined castle site.
